Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Research Description

Research in Tu lab focuses on chromosome dynamics during various cellular processes, including cell cycle, DNA damage repair, and transcription. What are the mechanisms that govern chromosome location and movement during DNA damage repair? How are human chromosomes organized to express genes necessary for cell- and tissue-specific functions? We employ interdisciplinary techniques  super-resolution CRISPR-based microscopy, biophysical analysis, and biological tools, to tackle fundamental questions in living cells.
