Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Research Description

Professor Sullivans research aims to quantitatively explore the roles of microbial viruses in the oceans (globally), soils, and humans. As a Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation Investigator, he has helped lay the foundation for modern viral ecology through establishing quantitative viral metagenomic sample-to-sequence pipeline and community-available informatics platforms to analyze such data, expanding our understanding of the global virosphere, and developing new approaches to link and explore virus-host interactions. He co-founded the UA Ecosystem Genomics Institute, and serves as co-Director of OSU's Microbial Communities Program.
