Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. Research Description

Dr. Malerbas research focuses on brain rhythms, how they emerge and coordinate across brain regions, and their role in memory and behavior. Special emphasis is on sleep, the link between sleep oscillations and cognition, and how this link changes/breaks in the presence of disease, degeneration or injury. Methods include data analysis, computational modelling of spiking neural networks and dynamical systems. The goal is developing a mechanistical understanding of brain rhythms and memory processing within and across sleep rhythms.
