Iris Meier

Mentor Faculty
Professor
Department of Molecular Genetics

Research Description:

Dr. Meiers research focuses on the role of nuclear positioning and nuclear movement in plant development, fertility, and environmental responses. In particular, we study protein bridges that span the nuclear envelope, connecting the nucleoskeleton to the cytoskeleton, called LINC complexes. We employ live cell imaging, plant genetics, and molecular biology techniques to answer biological questions.
