Financial Support
The current stipend level for our 2025 first-year students is $35,664 annually, or $2,972 per month.
Biophysics PhD students are guaranteed support via stipend, tuition, health insurance, non-resident fees, general fees, and instructional fees throughout the time they are earning their degrees, provided they are in good standing and are making reasonable progress towards the PhD. Fees that are not included are recreational fees, student union fees, COTA fees, and student legal fees. For more information on graduate student fees, please visit the registrar's website.
Biophysics provides Graduate Research Associate funding for three semesters to all of our first-year doctoral students during lab rotations. Your PHD advisor will provide subsequent years of support as a Graduate Research Associate (GRA), Graduate Teaching Associate (GTA), Trainee or Fellow (GFA).
Funding Eligibility
Students applying for a Biophysics Master of Science Program are not considered for program or University Fellowship funding.
Students applying for a Biophysics Doctoral Degree Program will be automatically recommended for a University Fellowship if meet they Fellowship deadline and academic requirements.
