Minimum Admission Requirements

Historically, most of our biophysics graduate students completed their undergraduate degrees in physics, chemistry, engineering, mathematics, or biology. Despite this fact, we have admitted students who have obtained degrees outside of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S.T.E.M) fields. Our admission criteria for graduate studies in biophysics focuses more on a student’s ability, experience, and motivation. We value applicants who can demonstrate strong mathematical and communication skills. For applicants to our program, it is essential to have strong mathematical skills to translate scientific inquiry and strong communication skills to convey experimental results. Applicants that do not meet our minimum admission standards can still considered for admission if they demonstrate significant research and publication experience.
