Research Interests:

Dr Gyorke's lab uses various techniques including cellular electrophysiology and life-cell imaging combined with methods of molecular genetics, biochemistry and biophysics to study calcium homeostasis in cardia myocytes. Disorders associated with abnormal calcium signaling are the leading causes of death in the US and worldwide. His goal is to gain fundamental insights into the mechanisms of these diseases in order to develop novel treatments.
