Research Description:

The overarching goal of the Nihongaki group is to decipher the molecular mechanisms and functional implications of the spatiotemporal organization of biomolecules. We will achieve this by creating innovative molecular tools that can manipulate target biomolecules with precision. We employ multidisciplinary approaches including protein engineering, chemical biology, cell biology, genome editing, advanced microscopy, and optogenetics. Our research will greatly enhance our ability to manipulate target genome, mRNA, protein and other biomolecules with unprecedented precision and provide new mechanistic insights into biomolecular organization in living cells, potentially leading to novel therapeutic strategies for human diseases.
