Research Interests: Nuclear Medicine is a radiologic specialty that creates images of the body using very small amounts of radioactive materials. It looks at structure and function of the body for diagnosis and treatment. The techniques used include Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT), Positron Emission Tomography combined with Computed Tomography (PET-CT), and bone scanning. Nuclear Medicine helps detect aneurysms, blood cell disorders and improper functioning of organs such as seen in thyroid or pulmonary disfucntion, inadequate or irregular blood flow, and tumors.
