Research Description:
My research focus has been Neuro-MRI since over 25 years. This has encompassed MRI technology development, implementation of novel acquisition methods and quantitative analysis of MRI images. I have been involved in a wide range of structural and function MRI projects. With the arrival of ultrahigh field (8T and 7T) human MRI, my research focused on methodology development and clinical applications. This included methods for assessing and correction of static and RF field inhomogeneity, development of methods for high resolution imaging, susceptibility contrast mechanism, and Diffusion Tensor Imaging. Applications include Multiple Sclerosis, Traumatic Brain Injury and stroke. In these efforts I have been leading a team of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
